The Chapel at Mount Pleasant Cemetery

Our Chapel can be rented on weekdays between 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and Saturdays between 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Please book an appointment to visit our office at least 24 hours before you have need of the Chapel (48 hours in the winter). During the appointment you will be asked to sign a contract.

The Chapel is heated in the winter. During the summer air is circulated with oscillating fans. Please note: our Chapel is not air conditioned.

Twelve permanent pews seat approximately 56 people. We have additional chairs so that a total of 80 people can be accommodated.

The entrance to the washroom has to be accessed from outside the building on the north side of the Chapel.

Several items are available for your use within our Chapel. Please refer to the list at the bottom of this page.

Items to consider

One or more of the following suggestions may prove helpful with your plans.

• Having your loved one's urn present.
• Engaging a Minister or asking a family member or friend to conduct the service.
• Using photographs, flowers, table coverings, and a guest register book.
• Providing information with the address of the charity of your choice for memorial donations.
• Printing memorial cards and placing a notice in the newspaper.
• Appointing someone to operate the CD player with your selection of music.
• Proceeding to the Grave / Niche or Scattering Garden following your Service for final interment. Decide who will place the urn or scatter the remains.
• Appointing someone to ensure that issues related to parking, seating, the service, washroom use, and your procession are as you intend.

NOTE: May we suggest that you think about engaging a Funeral Director? A professional will ensure that all contingencies are met.

Your Responsibilities

Personnel Issues - You are renting our Chapel - not our staff. If you require assistance with your service it is your responsibility to engage personnel.

Parking

• Angle park vehicles on the south side of the road.
• Parallel park them on the north side of the road.
• Please leave empty spaces in front of our office. Other families may have to visit our office.
• Please keep the roadway clear for Funeral Processions.

Washroom - Please ensure that your visitors use the washroom designated for you. It is located on the north side of the Chapel. (See drawing.)

Set-Up - You may set the Chapel up according to your needs. Please note that set-up and take down time are included in the time-frame of your rental booking.

Flowers - Florists should deliver your arrangements to the Chapel on the same day as your service.

Items Within the Chapel

There are several items within our Chapel which can be arranged according to your needs. These items include:

• One small table.
• One plant stand.
• 40 chairs.
• Coat rack.
• Oak table at the front of the Chapel.
• Bronze Cross.
• Lectern with microphone and freestanding microphone.
• Sound system and a CD player.
• Electronic Piano/Synthesizer
